Thanksgiving Day Races

Many Sisu Project runners went out to run in some Turkey Day classics on Thanksgiving 2010. In Andover, SP was very well represented at the Feaster Five:

5 Ryan Miller 27:08
11 Andrew Gallant 28:09
27 John Rheaume 30:15
94 Tim Gallant 33:19
167 Laura Rudd 35:02

Up in Portland, Mike Griffin ran very strong in the 29th Thanksgiving 4 Miler with a 19:52 2nd place finish while Matt Germain ran 16:07 at the Turkey Trot in Frederick, Maryland just several days after his PR half marathon in Philadelphia. Also, Caitlyn Clark continued her tradition of running the St. John's Turkey Trot and Kristina Miner ran at the 74th Annual Manchester Road Race.

Congratulations everyone for getting out there on Thanksgiving morning. Please let us know if we are missing anyone.

Recent November Races

On November 20, Mike Griffin notched another victory at the Field, Forest, and Orchard 5K in Philippston, MA where he ran 15:37! The next day, Ryan Miller ran 26:12 at the Slattery's 5 Miler Turkey Trot. Congratulations to both runners on their fine performances and good luck to everyone who is running a Thanksgiving race this weekend!

Big Three Shines in Philly

Much like the Boston Big Three, the trio of Caitlyn Clark, Matt Germain, and John Rheaume shined in the 8K, Half Marathon, and Marathon respectively. Things started off on Saturday with Caitlyn finishing 4th at the Rothman 8K in a PR 28:51 (details in previous post). Matt Germain took care business in the half today with a PR of his own in 1:13:31 and 12th overall. John Rheaume kept the PR train going with an 11 minute PR of 2:56:39 (167th overall) in the full marathon.

It was a fun and extremely successful weekend that showed exactly what Sisu is all about.

Caitlyn Clark breezed through the Rothman Institute 8K in Philadelphia today in a lightning time of 28:51. She finished 4th place in a very talented field and made a significant improvement to her already-impressive PR. We congratulate Caitlyn on her amazing performance.

Matt Germain and John Rheaume look to continue the Sisu PR train tomorrow. Matt will be running the half marathon and John will be running the full.
